DIY.........At Home Manicure

We all like weekends but what do you look forward to doing once the weekend is here. For me it is a time i put to use all the beauty basics i learn from reading magazines online and other peoples blogs. You might have come across this before but brushed it off. I went further and tried it for you so you won't be burdened with wondering if it works or not.

what you need/why you need them:

Polish remover/cotton balls (cotton wool) - remove old polish if any with cotton balls soaked in polish remover.
Water - soak nails in warm water. This helps to soften the cuticles.

Lemon - put some drops of lemon in warm water before soaking the nails. This helps to remove discoloration on nails that polish remover cannot remove.

Sugar & lemon - improve circulation and soften your palms by scrubbing with sugar and lemon. Use around the nails to remove unsightly cuticle instead of cutting it off. Another option is to use orange stick to push cuticle back.

Nail file - file nails to your desired shape. This makes nails less prone to breakage.

Base coat - use before applying polish to help polish last longer.

Nail polish - treat your nail to a beautiful color. Allow to dry a bit before applying top coat.

Top coat - use after applying polish to give a shiny finish and to seal the polish.

People notice your hands, so plan a pampering session to make your hands speak volunm!
